Removing a top mount sink epoxied to the granite counter

We want to remove our top mount cast-iron sink and replace it with a new one. The plumber tried to pop it out as he says he usually does but it did not budge and is apparently epoxied in. No granite people seem able to come up with a way to get the sink out without breaking the countertop. The plumber says he may be able to use a "salvage saw" to cut up the cast iron sink but it is a big and dirty job. Any better suggestions? Is there a chemical that can be used?
