Removing Indoor/Outdoor Carpeting from concrete porch

I would like to remove the indoor/outdoor "green" carpeting from the concrete porch that is the front entrance to my condo. The carpeting is frayed at the crease down the front of the step and the concrete is exposed. Unfortunately the carpet was glued down with some type of adhesive which makes removing the carpet very difficult. I'm afraid that if I pull up the carpet the backing will remain down and I don't know how to remove the adhesive. Is there an universal solvent I could use to disolve the adhesive? Can it be applied prior to removing the carpet?

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Get a good floor sc****r from Home Depot or any other big box store and just use this and "elbow grease" to get off the glue. It will get 99% of glue and left over carpet off of the concrete.
