Remote Light Switch

I just re-arranged my living room. The lamp that used to be controlled by the wall switch no longer reaches the switched outlet. I could run an extension cord, but there is no furniture to hide the cord so it would be very ugly and my kids could get to it. There is an un-switched outlet next to the light. Does anyone know of what I can do to get the switch to work for the new location of the lamp. I have searched on the internet for something but the only thing I can find is a remote switch and outlet. The only problem is that this is controlled by a remote switch. I don't need two Switches. I need something that can send a signal when power is given to the transmitter or somthing like that.

Re: Remote Light Switch

I doubt you'll find any remote outlet things that are controlled by another outlet. However you could just replace the existing switch with a wireless switch like one of these and then just put that on the new outlet.
