FAQs About Complete Protection Home Warranty?

When does Complete Protection Home Warranty coverage begin?

When you sign up for coverage, there’s a 30-day waiting period before you’re able to file a claim. After those 30 days, the plan protects all covered appliances and systems in your contract.

Do I need a home inspection before enrolling in coverage?

In the company’s terms and conditions, they detail their right to request your home inspection report when applicable, but it doesn’t specify that it’s needed before enrolling.

What does the Complete Protection claims process look like?

When filing a claim with Complete Protection, policyholders have two options. They can either file a claim through phone or via their online customer portal.

Once the claim is received and processed, the company usually takes about 48 hours to send a service technician to your home. Additionally, if you choose your own technician you must first authorize the contractor through Complete Protection to receive reimbursement.

Is a home warranty different from homeowners insurance?

Yes, a home warranty covers systems and appliances that break down due to normal wear and tear while homeowners insurance covers structural damage to your home from fires, natural disasters, and theft.

Our Rating Methodology

We back up our home warranty ratings and recommendations with a detailed rating methodology to score each provider objectively. We conduct research by speaking with company representatives, requesting quotes, analyzing sample contracts, and conducting focus groups and consumer surveys.

We score each provider against our review standards, which include four comparison categories: coverage, value, trust and transparency, and availability and service. We rate each provider across 31 factors within these categories. Each factor is assigned a point value based on its importance to a homeowner, totaling 100 points. We then convert the final scores to a 5-star rating.

    • Major appliances coverage
    • Obstructed wall coverage cap

    • Policy change flexibility
    • Sample contract availability
