Where shingles meet siding

I just got my roof shingles replaced, I noticed that on a section of the roof where shingles meet with some siding, the sideboards are looking a little rough. Should there be some sort of flashing between the shingles and the siding boards? Any pictures on what this should look like would be much appreciated.

Re: Where shingles meet siding

Do a web search for images of "step flashing" That is what your roofers should have done.

Read this thread, particularly post #15

Re: Where shingles meet siding

the type of flashing depends on which way the roof runs.

if the slope of the roof is along the side wall there should be step flashing and the siding should have a 1" space between the shingles. if its a shed roof there should be a peice of aluminum flashing which tuckes up under the siding and over the top of the shingles also with a 1" space between the bottom of the siding and the shingles
