Replacing Lath bathroom ceiling

I'm about to move into my fiances place, but his bathroom ceiling is currently exposed lath, minus the plaster. I'm not sure the correct way is to finish this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Rip out the lath and replace with [MR] moisture resistant drywall would be the route I would take.

Thank you to the direction. I really didn't have a clue where to start.

Where ever you buy the drywall, help might be available. Unless you shop at a big box, then you might be on your own.

On the cheap, you could just box a new ceiling frame and screw the drywall in to the new frame, an inch or so below the lathe.. But that's on the cheap....

You can board over the lathe just use like 2 1/2" screws and screw into the studs.
