Over 300 inches of snow a year, high winds, very cold in UP Michigan. Need to replace siding on 20 year old house. Intense sun damage and fading. What is the best product to use to replace siding and which Windows?

I visited Marquette and Duluth one summer, I didn't see no 300 inches of snow...But I believe you on this one.

I can only suggest you do what other homeowners do, check which exterior is the most common, talk to other homeowners, talk to subcontractors, read on line - then you will get an idea what is efficient in your neck of the wood.

I went to school in Hancock, MI and I did see 300 inches of accumulated snow. Driving up 41 from Hancock to Calumet was like driving in a tunnel with a skylight.

Brick or stone is always the most durable. Hardi-board should also be suitable but use a good paint. You may also want to use a good siding under it like PT 3/4" plywood or at least use a water barrier under it.
