Bad regrout job by contractor

Ive just had my shower regrouted by a "tile seal" business. The job turned out pretty bad, lots of small gaps and pin holes in the grout on the walls. The floor was done with an epoxy grout, and was really messy, with thick grout lines and plenty of grout left on the tiles.

The person who did the job said he will come back and grout over the gaps & holes. He will also "melt" the epoxy grout, remove and redo any spots that need to be done.

My concern (aside from not being convinced he will do a good job), is that the job was now done 4 days ago, and if he just groust over the top to fix the holes the new grout wont adhere properly.

So would regrouting over the 4 day old grout be adequate?

And is ok to melt parts of the epoxy without removing it all?
