Upon arrival at the Westford renovation, Kevin O’Connor reviews the second-floor layout and finds Charlie Silva in the only upstairs bathroom, where Charlie explains his phased approach for insulation in order to stay on schedule. Insulation has been sprayed in the attic and is progressing downward through the house as the rough-ins are inspected. Kevin and Charlie review the plans for the upstairs bathroom.
Then Kevin visits the backyard where solar installation expert Dan McCarthy is preparing the site for a new ground mounted solar array. Dan walks Kevin through the initial steps, including how the land is prepped and how the team drills in large ground screws—the first step in setting up the panel structure.
Out front, Kevin checks in with Tom Silva, who explains that due to maintenance concerns, the homeowners are opting for fiberglass gutters instead of traditional wood. Together, they cut a section of gutter to size, install the downspout, and head up to the roofline to install that section.
Meanwhile, Heath Eastman travels to New Hampshire to meet with lighting restoration specialists Keith Campbell and Keith Campbell Jr. The homeowners selected an antique chandelier, which needs to be rewired to meet modern safety standards. Heath assists in disassembling the fixture, rewiring it, and performing several safety tests to ensure it’s ready for use.
Back at the house, Kevin meets up with Charlie again to help install the finishing touches on the portico railings, bringing that part of the project closer to completion.
