Kevin O’Connor returns to the house, where he meets environmental abatement specialist Ron Peik, who is overseeing the lead paint removal from the main staircase. Ron walks Kevin through the process, explaining that the team has removed the balusters for off-site treatment, while they focus on restoring the wainscoting, risers, and railings. Using a heat gun and scraper, they are carefully stripping these elements back to the wood.
Next, Kevin heads to the basement, where he joins Charlie Silva and waterproofing expert Hugo Provetti. Hugo details his team’s plan to waterproof the basement from the inside. They’ll drill a hole and install a port, through which they’ll pump water to observe how it spreads. Once they’ve mapped the water flow, they’ll seal the foundation with spray foam to prevent future leaks.
Later, Kevin meets Jenn Nawada at a local apple orchard. While exploring the variety of apples, Jenn is inspired to buy a few apple trees for the homeowners, Emily and Ethan, so they can enjoy fresh apples of their own. Back at the house, the homeowners join Jenn in planting the new trees.
Finally, Kevin, Tom Silva, and Charlie team up to install the new roof hatch, bringing the day’s work to a close.
