Kevin O’Connor finds Mauro Henrique outside, inspecting the new siding on the house. Mauro explains that since the siding was pre-coated by the manufacturer, it’s ready for installation with no additional treatment needed. However, the trim will require more attention. Mauro and his team will finalize the trim after he and the homeowners settle on a color.
Inside, Kevin meets up with Heath Eastman in the kitchen. Now that the homeowners have finalized the layout, Heath is ready to begin the wiring. With the decision to forgo recessed lighting, Heath needs to get creative to ensure the kitchen gets enough light.
Out back, Kevin joins Richard Trethewey, who explains that the existing septic system no longer complies with code due to the new addition to the house. It’s also too small to support both the main house and the carriage house, so they’ll be installing a new system. Kevin and Richard oversee the installation process.
Afterward, they meet with septic expert David Schofield, who shares new materials that prevent system failures, and Richard shows Kevin the new leeching field.
Meanwhile, upstairs, Charlie and Tom Silva are rebuilding the upper section of the staircase, which was damaged in the fire.
On the first floor, Kevin meets with plumber Brian Bilo to discuss the layout of the new bathroom.
On the roof, Charlie and Tom are installing the railing posts for the widow’s walk. Since the roof is rubber, they must carefully seal the posts to prevent any water damage and ensure the roof remains waterproof.
