Replace Carpeted stairs and landing with hardwood

Except for the landing I will rip out existing pine stair treads and risers. There are 4 treads. Replacing with pre finished 3/4 hard wood and nosing.
Question what sequence do I install? Nosing has the grove end...Glue down? Im afraid I will get square off stapling rest of landing and stair tread, then nose will be crooked.
I have never installed hardwood before. I know that the starter strip will be the most critical.
Any advise or caution appreciated.
Thanks,

Are you talking about using hardwood flooring for stair treads?

Yes, with matching nose.

Personally ... I wouldn't remove the existing treads and replace with t&g hardwood flooring .... you would be better off leaving the existing in place and covering over with say 1/2 inch engineered flooring.

Otherwise you may end up with disappointing results from noisy and springy stairs especially if there isn't a middle stringer..... in my opinion.

If you are going through all that work to remove the treads consider getting solid wood ones installed.

2 cents worth.

I agree with Canuk, use the right stuff for a good job.
