Drilling through lath and plaster

We have a 1920's farmhouse with no insulation in the walls. We have decided to do the blown in insulation. Now comes the problem, regular type drill bits are being eating up by the plaster. What I need is a direction as to what drill bit will be able to penetrate the lath and plaster? This is conpletly a diy job. Any help or hints are welcome.

Thank you:)

I have used spade bits with no problem. Just use a electric drill instead of cordless.

Also, used hole saw. It works like a drill bit...but, is a bigger circle with sharp teeth.

Not sure that will work going through lath. Regular hole saw will work Just drill slowly.
