Daewon tankless boiler

Note, I tried to include a link to the web page but I have not been around long enough to post a link.
The web site is daewan boiler .com the unit is the "Korean" style gas wall hung boiler. : - )

We have this boiler installed in our house. It is LP, tankless domestic hot water and boiler for our hydronic system.
We took a chance and bought it on eBay 5years ago ($400 NIB) and it works like a charm but we have been unable to find any info on who imports these here in the US. The eBay seller claimed that several hundred were bought for condos in PA but he was of no other help.
My reason for posting is to see if I can find anyone that has a source for parts and if anyone has or can do a better job of translating the instructions for the control box - thermostat shown on the link above.

All that said, we are very pleased with the unit, our HVAC guy is impressed, and we actually have a 2nd spare unit also an eBay find ($100 NIB) but no 2nd control box. It's on our wish list!

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Been in the wholesale side of the HVAC business for over 20 years and have never heard of them. Also checked my rep library for all mfg products and have come up empty. You may have to call China to get the parts.

I ever was good at this kind of things, I guess that's why I signed up on this forum, it has been a great help to me.

I also have a Daewon Boiler, purchased on ebay. I could send you a picture of my control unit. I hand made labels in english.

On their website there is a contact number, email and address. Try those. If you need something translated, try dictionaries or professional translators.

generally, I don't like to buy foreign products without an established service and part supply channels. You are so far lucky to have a trouble free unit.

(1) How did a licensed plumber installed this based on a lack of english instructions ?

(2) Does it carry any type of UL or European safety label ? An appliance association label I think will only certify the specs & peformance figures, but not safety.

Wouldn't want any gray market product not intended for the US that uses electricity or have internal combustion.

On the other hand, there are lots of "wholesale" type products that have almost non-existent consumer manuals, but even they will post something on a website that shows they're intended for the US market.

The poster bought this unit on eBay, a place you can buy many foreign consumer goods, electronics, small appliances, etc. that don't meet US stds, and bypass safety regulations. Then, any plumber could install it, collect his fee and would not warrant anything.
This doesn't say that foreign products are inferior at all. It's just that when they fail, the buyer is up the creek.

I have recently retired my Daewon Boiler after about 12 years of use. It had an internal leak in the burner. I still have the functioning control box. If you still want it I would be happy to ship it to you. My email address is [email protected]
