Brick/granite stairs vs. wooden stairs

What are the pros and cons of brick/granite stairs and wooden stairs? Currently we have brick/granite, but they are crumbling and need repair or replacement. Thanks!

I assume that these are outdoor stairs.

Stone/brick stairs, as you see, crack, crumble, get detached, may be slippery when wet. However they can stand up to the elements better than wood.

Wood stairs deteriorate, require maintenance, may split, rot, get termites and can get slippery when wet.

If you like what you have, then repair or rebuild them. It's also the perfect time to consider what other types of stone you might like as the available varieties aren't as locally restricted as they once were. Anyone can get almost anything these days though you may have to order it.
