spray in insulation Retro Foam

1960's ranch on a slab, no insulation in the walls....
considering spray in product Retro Foam, any experience
with product..... does it settle and break down over time and
safeness to use. Claims safe and non toxic...yet has .015 formaldehyde

Unsure if there is a difference in spray in foam products?

Spray-in foams are either closed-cell or open-cell, they type used based on where you're putting it. Both will require one side of the walls to be fully open. Your best bet is to have several insulation contractors look it over and give you their recommendations. Foam is expensive and you may decide to go with fiberglass instead!

Thanks Phil...

should add.... the contractor is suggesting from the outside of the house, removing siding
and drilling holes to fill walls, then replugging holes.

You should get more than one estimate and proposal.
