Moen Faucet

We have a single handle Moen kitchen faucet... INS132B.

After hot water runs for a bit, the water flow stops completely. It does not do this with the cold water. Moen sent a new cartridge kit, but after installation, the problem persists.
Any thoughts ?

Thanks

Re: Moen Faucet

You may have a blockage somewhere, before the water reaches the faucet.

Possible locations:
- wall nipple
- angle stop
- supply line (from the angle stop to the faucet)

First shut off the main. Remove the supply line and the angle stop. Examine all three and replace if necessary. It could be some dirt, rust or broken washer.

If you have a problem after you finish, write back.

Re: Moen Faucet

Turn off the water, pull the cartridge, then put a towel over the faucet and carefully turn on the hot side to purge the line of any debris. Reassemble the faucet and see if that takes care of business. If not, disconnect the hot line to the faucet and run it in a bucket and see if you've got full pressure through the hose.

If you have good line pressure, then replace the whole faucet assembly. Personally, I've never been a Moen fan, they seem to be a cheaply made faucet wrought with problems. Pfister and Delta are good brands.

Re: Moen Faucet

Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. After doing all the suggestions, the problem persists.
It is now happening with both the cold and hot water.
I think we're just going to get a new faucet.

Thanks

Re: Moen Faucet

It's probably the transfer valve. I bet you have good pressure from the hose spray.

Re: Moen Faucet

I have a parts diagram of my faucet, but I don't see a transfer valve.

I'm going to try and find a pdf of the parts diagram and post it here.

Hi,
I found the link..............

Can you let me know what part you are referring to ?

Thanks

Re: Moen Faucet

I was thinking you had there faucet with a separate hose spray from the spout. Which pull out do you have the first or the second one on the pdf?

Re: Moen Faucet

We have the pull-out spout, and I tried it tonight with the sprayer on and the same thing happened.

Re: Moen Faucet

I think it's the check valve that John is referring to.

Have you checked the water supply lines for blockages?
