Today, Roger Cook is lovingly remembered through his family, his work on This Old House, and the landscaping business he started with his wife, Kathy, K&R Landscape. The young men he trained and mentored are now running the projects, bringing the same attention to detail and passion that Roger brought for all of those years.
Not least of which is the legacy he created through the show. His friends and colleagues Kevin, Tom, Richard, Jenn, and the rest of the cast and crew, truly treasure the time they spent with him. Viewers nationwide learned about new plants, proper techniques, and general responsibility to the natural world through Roger, and he’ll be remembered for those contributions for decades to come.
It’s hard to know how many plants and trees Roger has planted over the years. It’s even harder to count how many lives he’s touched. Always the gentle giant, Roger is remembered as being a strong, hard-working, knowledgeable, and caring boss, colleague, and father—and we’re proud to have called him a friend.
Thank you, Roger.
Roger’s family has set up a nonprofit to preserve his commitment to helping others. The foundation will focus its efforts on the causes that Roger cared about most, including wildlife conservation and childhood education.
