Strange condensation situation

I have a home built in 1942. Wood single pane windows in good condition that have wooden storms. While old, the system works very well.

I have one problem area that really baffles me though. In my living room I have two smallish (roughly 1.5 x 3) non-operable windows on either side of the fireplace. They both have wooden storms on them and I left them on last year (our first year in the house, but it's pretty obvious that they haven't been taken off in a while).

The windows have Western exposure and during the warmer months they get a great deal of condensation on the inside of the storm window - but only in the later part of the day when they are getting full sunlight. None of my other windows on that side of the house have this problem.

Any thoughts?
