Help save my garden from weeds
neel759

For the past 5-6 years my lawn has been in bad shape. Last year we took out the entire lawn and planted it with seeds and still came out to like this. Spring started about a month ago and I do not know what to do. What type of fertilizer to get, how much lawn to cut, how much water I need to give , and lastly how can I get rid of these weeds, dandelions. crab grass, white clovers, chickweeds, and prickly lettuces, Please help me.
Thank you

I agree with @Bret, you should consult an expert. If you want to save and get more affordable and faster alternatives for your beautiful yard, then you should consult with some experts.

But, another effective method of controlling weeds is to use mulch, especially in the vegetable and fruit garden. When you cannot remove weeds, the next best thing is to chop off their heads.

You can also use Diatomaceous earth, which has a number of uses in and around the garden and home, and acting as a natural insecticide for garden pests.

You can also get some organic pest control tips by getting in contact with pest control Antioch CA team, or any other specialist who can help you determine the best methods for managing the worst garden pests in your region.

My garden was very overgrown when i moved, lots of brambles and ivy amongst other things.

Pick a corner to start and take it slowly. It is worth getting as much root up as possible so it doesnt come back. If you do find anything that might be a decent plant this forum is great for identifying and giving advice. I did all mine by hand and it does take a long but very satisfying when you start to see results. Best of luck

Contact your local extension agent.  Some locations provide detailed help, some don't. Get a professional soil test; most extension services will do this for a nomial fee.  Then decide your budget and if you want to tackel it all at once or a litte bit at a time.   See what your neighbors have done.  Unless you are an expert and have a lot of $, your lawn won't look like a golfcourse.
