Reframing the main floor in Brookline: Insider Sneak Peek
To ensure that the kitchen floor is level, a new steel beam is put in place
TOH host Kevin O'Connor steps in to the Brookline House to find that much of the first floor is gone. After discovering that the house's main floor was off by an inch and a half, general contractor Charlie Silva decided that the best approach would be to re-frame it rather than trying to individually level each board. Tom Silva shows Kevin how they're using a laser to guide the installation of a new steel beam, and with the help of apprentice Erick Ellison, they get started.
