It's likely your customers aren't aware of the Department of Energy's (DOE) Approved Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program. The program, which is administered by individual states with Federal money, offers cash rebates for appliances that are replaced with more efficient ones.

Go here for a map with hotlinks to each state's program. The start and close dates of the programs vary by state, and while some have already closed, 46 states' programs are still sending out checks.

Chances are that finding out about a $50 rebate for a new refrigerator won't convince a reluctant customer to finally sign on the dotted line for that kitchen remodel you've been discussing for months, but the brownie points you'll earn can't hurt your chances, either.
