Looking to remove 14 year old cherry cabinets and granite countertops, and changing the kitchen to a dining room. Are there companies that can remove and salvage this for us in the Boston area?
Any kitchen remodeler deals with removing old cabinets in prep for a new kitchen. Hire a contractor who will take his time (and charge more) so that the cabinets are not destroyed.
Oh, you want to know if they would do it for free? I doubt it, but won't hurt to ask and get a good laugh.
Like any other used item, if you don't find your buyer, it really has no value.
I wouldn't want old cabinets to replace other old cabinets. But, other folks may be interested...advertise and see what happens. Let us know.
Many areas have a Restore Store which accepts good condition used and leftover building supplies and sells them cheap to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. When reading the stories on the TOH Remodelers contest, I have found that some industrious homeowners have refinished cabinets found at Restore. Contact the closest Restore Store to see if they have any volunteers to get your stuff. Possibly, your contractor would be willing to remove the cabinets with care if they are in good shape to give to a good cause. It also helps keep stuff out of the dump.
