Square windows in round house?

We are building a home out of two grain silos and have run into the issue of how to keep square windows from leaking in our round house. Started with c-channel, have used tar & spray foam. Any suggestions?

Re: Square windows in round house?

I would think all the standard window installation issues still apply. Proper size rough opening, flashing at head, jamb & sill, sealant, trim, sills that extend beyond the structure. Possibly a drip cap above the window.
I think tall, narrow windows would work best, but no reason segmented windows couldn't be joined to creat a larger window with a proper header.
What kind of silo? Concrete, metal, wood?
Certainly this has been done and documented before. Search on-line and books.

Re: Square windows in round house?

Ed21 mentioned narrow windows, and that's the way to do it.

Instead of one square window, install three narrow rectangular windows to get the angle.

Re: Square windows in round house?

What they said plus its as simple as square windows with rounded trims and flashings.
