red heart pine holes

I am trying to finish a red heart pine floor over 100 years old. There are worm holes thru out the room. They are up to 1/4 in deep and 5/8 in wide. I want to keep them visible but want a smooth finish before I polyurathane the floor. Is there a clear epoxy ar another filler that can be used?

Re: red heart pine holes

They make epoxy sticks that might work for you. The two sticks are soft and you just cut off an equal sized piece from both, knead them together and then apply them to the holes. Use a putty knife to smooth out the hole patch and let them harden. The patches won't match the wood so they'll show, if that's OK with you.

Good Luck.
