PLEASE HELP Before we run another line;No water from gravity fed 1 inch line from city water tank
Christina

Ok, I want to see if I can explain this to where someone can understand me. My water supply comes from a city water tank up on the hill. On the opposite side Of the tank feeds a large community. But on my side, my tap is connected directly to the bottom of the tank therefore, causing my water to be gravity fed. The tank is maybe a little over a football field away. The main water line broke on the other side causeing my line to go dry as well. They filled the tank back and we can’t get water flowing back into our home again. The valve at the tank is on and there is plenary of water going through, but by the time it makes to here, it’s only dripping. How do we get that water back to the house? We tried hooking a 1/2 horsepower shallow well pump to it hoping it would suck the water to us, but that did not work. Please help.

The valve is clogged or not open like you think, or the pipe is clogged between the tank and your house, or there is a valve at your water meter that was closed during the repairs and never reopened.  No pump is going to solve your problem.  You must clear the clog or open the valve.
