Outside wall pulling away from roof

My house is about 100 years old. The outside wall is slowly pulling away from the roof creating a large gap where the ceiling and wall meet in the inside of the house. The separation began in the center of the outside wall and is gradually speading along the entire legnth of the house. Is there anything feasible that can be done?

Sounds like foundation problems. You should have a professional come out and take a look to give you an answer.

Years ago I had a house with the same problem. I found out that the joists in the ceiling had been installed perpendicular to the rafters instead of parallel. I installed jack posts between the ridge and interior loadbearing wall and steel cables with turnbucles spanning the attic floor. That was 40 years ago. the house was still standing when I saw it a few years ago.
