Need advice on mantle replacement

I purchsed a bank owned property that has the fireplace mantles stolen. I want to replace them but not sure how to go about getting one to fit. Any suggestions?

Dee,

Mantels and the fireplace areas were designed to be replaced. Even thought the mantel was built onsite. Look around online or in your local antique stores for a mantel with a mirror above, simular to the one that I have attached. They can easily be set and then the plaster set around the mantel. You do not have to have one with a mirror, but if you have other fireplaces in the house, which I bet there are many, you will want them all to be simular. Either all have a mirror above, or not. We have eight fireplaces in our house, all have different brick surround and slightly different look, but they all have a mirror. The mirror was there before electricity to reflect the light that came thru the windows, and to reflect the candle light at night. If you happen to see any of the small, decroative brick, purchase all they have. This type of brick cannot be replicated, so all that is left is what is in some antique store some where.

Also, the fireplace used to have an iron facia with a summer cover, as pictured in the attachment. try to find these parts also. They complete the fireplace and the mantel.
