i have a fairly new utica steam boiler system which includes an automatic vent damper. the heat was off when i got up this morning and i went down cellar to check the boiler. when i got down there i could hear "power" going to the damper but it was not opening, which was preventing the boiler from turning on. i toggled the manual-open/auto-open switch to the manual side. it opened when i did that and the boiler kicked on. now i'm not sure if when the boiler turns off again if it will reopen without having to do the "manual open" thing again. not sure if it's just the motor or an electrical problem, or one of those just replace the whole auto damper things. any suggestions........?
