House wrap INSIDE

Can I put up house wrap (Tyvek) inside my house? I'm planning on removing interior paneling on an "outside" wall down to the studs. I'm not doing anything on the exterior of that wall. Before I put up drywall I was thinking of putting up Tyvek in the same orientation as it would be if it was outside. I think moisture from the inside would pass through and also prevent wind from coming through from the outside. Am I potentially creating a problem here?

Re: House wrap INSIDE

You are correct in that house wrap like Tyvek is an air barrier.

If you are heating the inside of the house during cold seasons then you don't want the warm moist air passing through into the walls since it will condense and will cause moisture issues. The continuous plastic sheet vapor barrier serves two purposes : it's a vapor barrier and an air barrier.
