Grades of Stainless Steel Sinks

Heard there are different grades of stainless for sinks. Can anyone tell me the grades and which is better.

Re: Grades of Stainless Steel Sinks

I don't know about different grades, but there are different thicknesses (gauge ). The thicker the metal, the less reverberatory "bong" occurs when banging things around in it. I personally look for the thickest sinks for my jobs, however if this is a turn-n-burn property, then you can go with the cheaper, thinner material.

A tip: The smaller gauge numbers mean thicker material. So a 16 gauge stainless steel sink is THICKER than an 18 gauge. I terms of cos, you can get a 22 gauge sink for almost half the price of an 18 gauge.
