What She Did
On the first floor, the lobby was turned into a formal living room where guests are greeted and entertained. The postmaster's office became a home office; the money-order office became a formal dining room, and its safe now stores silver. Behind the lobby’s grillework, the mail-sorting area was divided to create a new kitchen, a great room, and, configured around the structure's main staircase, a two-story library. A gardening room and a glass-roofed sunroom adjoin the veranda, once the loading dock.
