A trip back to Santa Fe: Insider Sneak Peek
This Old House HVAC expert Richard Trethewey and master carpenter Norm Abram revisit a TOH TV project house from thirty years ago
All the way back in Season 11, the crew from This Old House headed to the southwest to help renovate a circa-1930 adobe home in Santa Fe, New Mexico. For a time during the project, Norm took over the house's studio—both the homeowners are artists—as a temporary workshop. Once Norm was done building, Richard took charge of the space, installing what was, at the time, a brand-new technology. He replaced the concrete slab floor with a PEX tubing system, adding radiant floor heat to both the studio and an adjacent bathroom. Thirty years later, homeowner Joe Anna happily reports that it's still in perfect working order—no cold feet here!
