Environmental Pest Service Plans & Services
Environmental Pest Service is a holding company that owns and manages numerous local brands in home care services around the southeast United States.
Environmental Pest Service was founded in 1958, and it currently owns many brands for pest control and termite management in the southeastern United States. It has merged with and acquired 80 companies in the past 10 years. The two primary brands that offer pest control services are Arrow Environmental Services and Bug Out.
Depending on the type of pest that is populating your home, you will need services specific to the species. Through its partner companies, Environmental Pest Service offers residential and commercial pest control to manage common household pests. Both of the main brands, Arrow Environmental Services and Bug Out, offer similar services to their customers. Both providers offer year-round pest control.
Each brand protects against:
- And more
The companies also provide control for specialty pests like bed bugs and termites. Termites are handled with the Sentricon System with Always Active technology, a bait system designed to eliminate an entire colony completely. These systems are considered to have less of an impact on the environment, as the chemicals remain in the baits and don’t seep out into the soil.
These two providers also offer household services like insulation, irrigation, lawn care, tree and shrub care, and fertilization. This can be a bonus, since you won’t have to work with multiple providers for services around your home.
Environmental Pest Service is headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The company owns many pest control offices around the southeast region of the country. However, you won’t be working with Environmental Pest Service directly. Instead, you’ll reach out to one of their partner companies to request a home evaluation and pest control services.

Jeremy W. said:
“Review of Arrow Environmental Services Orlando, FL. This is the worst lawn and pest service I’ve used in the last five years. The salesperson who sold me this complete con job said that this was a one-year contract, which I paid in full, then Arrow continued to bill me after the year of service ended. It took seven calls to multiple numbers to get them to cancel the service and months of headaches to finally get this company out of my life forever. Their last pest service was one of their employees who showed up to my house and was told by my wife that the service was cancelled, then continued around the house with a broom and charged me $94. Enter into an agreement with this company knowing that the service and especially the customer service is absolutely horrible.”
Bug Out is BBB-accredited and holds an A+ rating from the organization, but no reviews.
Lou S. said:
“I wish I had read these reviews before I hired these people. They came out for the first time, I hired them to spray my palm trees, specifically my Pygmy palm and my plants for white flies. They came out, sprayed and missed my palm trees, didn’t spray any of them. They only sprayed some of my plants and they over-sprayed, some of them have died already and they missed half of the plants in general. When I called the salesman he was apologetic but no one offered to come out and spray my palm trees and said ‘oh, we don’t spray palm trees,’ which was the main reason I brought them out here was to spray my sick palm tree. I was told by the salesman that they were treated without any problem whatsoever. BEWARE!”

Our Rating Methodology
The This Old House Reviews Team is committed to providing comprehensive and unbiased reviews to our readers. This means earning your trust through transparency and having the data to back up our ratings and recommendations. Our rating system for pest control providers is on a 100-point scale based on seven factors:
- Plan options (35): Every home and every pest problem has its specific needs when it comes to prevention and remediation. Companies with multiple plans and service offerings were given higher scores than those without.
- State Availability (5): Where you live determines which providers are available. Companies available in more states were rated higher than those with less.
- Trustworthiness (10): We consider companies that offer service guarantees and others more trustworthy and therefore scored higher.
- Customer Service (30): This factor is based on our own research from calling providers, as well as their availability and guarantees for responses.
- Additional Benefits (20): Companies who offer things like information about the products they use, have an app for customers, and other benefits were given higher ratings.
Our Reviews Team reviewed 42 companies and we have full-time researchers who collect (and regularly update) more than 75 specific data points from each company to help us compare them on key factors such as coverage, cost, service, and dependability. Read more on our methodology here.
