A homemade solution for dispensing grocery bags

In most homes, plastic grocery bags accumulate faster than cats at a fish fry. The versatile, lightweight bags are surprisingly strong and certainly worth saving and reusing. Here's how to store them neatly while keeping them accessible.

Take a clean, empty two-liter plastic soda bottle and snip off the neck and bottom with a utility knife or tin snips. Then, attach the bottle to the back of a cabinet door or closet door with a single screw; be sure the enlarged neck opening faces down.

Stuff the grocery bags into the inverted bottle. To retrieve one, simply reach into the neck opening and yank it out. The bottle will hold about 15 bags.
