Sanding Multiple Boards
A technique for sanding down the edges of several boards at once
Next time you need to belt-sand the edges of several boards, clamp the boards together with the edges flush and then sand them all at the same time. Known as "gang sanding," the technique saves time and assures absolute uniformity, because the same amount is removed from all the boards. It's also easier to keep the sander flat and even on the wide surface of the ganged boards than it is on the narrow edge of a single board.
