Flo from Boon makes bath time painless for parents and fun for kids. It diverts the flow from the faucet, creating a gentle waterfall while guarding against injury with a protective, soft faucet cover. As an added bonus, it doubles as a bubble-bath dispenser.
Your kid can wrestle a dinosaur with the brightly colored Alfie handshower from Hansgrohe. It offers full and aerated spray modes, plus a special cleaning system that removes residual limescale every time the spray mode is changed.
Kids won't mind washing up with Elkay's Scrub-a-Dubs sink. Its six designs include tulips, fish, butterflies, and hearts. An optional coordinating faucet offers your choice of three handle colors.
Terrific for tot and teen toilettes, these knobs from MNG's enamel collection, Cool Colors, are hand-painted with silver shiny stems. They're available in black-and-white cowhide print; purple or traditional camouflage; clouds; or blue, pink, or black-and-white leopard. Each knob measures 1 1/8 inch in diameter with a 1-inch projection.
The Potty Bench from Boon offers a functional solution for the training years. Tuck away the wipes in two enclosed side storage spaces, and use the pull-out drawer for simple sanitary cleanup. Closed, it serves as a stool that supports up to 300 lbs. Also included are a built-in toilet paper holder and a removable soft deflector shield.
Gerber's PeeWee Collection includes a child-size toilet measuring 10 1/8 inches high and two lavatory options (both 14 3/4 inches wide by 14 3/4 deep), which can be hung at child height. Manufactured to fit a standard 10-inch rough-in, the toilet can be easily removed and replaced with an adult-sized model when your kid matures.
Delta's e-Flow electronic hands-free faucet line is both stylish—with six interchangeable brightly colored handles—and safe. To prevent scalding, a control knob allows the temperature to be set prior to use. Its hands-off design reduces the spread of germs, and with a 30-second maximum flow time, it helps prevent flooding caused by distracted users. The unit can run for approximately 150,000 uses—or roughly one year—on four standard "AA" batteries.
Kohler's Transitions Quiet-Close toilet seat is commodious for both adults and children. It features a ring with a kid-sized opening, as well as special hinges so the seat can be removed for easy cleaning of hard-to-reach areas.
Accessorize tub time with these Pottery Barn Kids cotton bathmats in two designs—a pink butterfly and a green turtle. Go crazy and get the whole set, which includes bath towels, a shower curtain, and hampers.
The new PBteen bathroom console and cabinet collection will appeal to fashionistas of all ages. The vanity is available in a single unit or a double one, which is perfect for shared spaces. The bath cabinet has plenty of built-in storage options, so growing kids can accumulate lots of stuff.
Don't have the wherewithal for a full kid-friendly remodel? Forego the diminutive fixtures, and create a themed children's bath by adding a decorative mural. New York-based design firm, decoradar, creates custom murals like the Koi Pond, rendered in rubber fish and lotus leaves. For non-New Yorkers, the company offers "PIY" (paint-it-yourself) kits that come with all the elements—brush, paint, drop cloth, sculptural elements, etc.—needed to stylize the designs.
