How to Replace Polybutylene Pipes

In this video, learn how to install a new, leak-proof CPVC plastic water-supply system with This Old House plumbing and heating expert Richard Trethewey.
1. Use drywall saw to cut open walls and ceilings to expose the polybutylene water-supply pipes.
2. Turn off the water to the house, then cut out the existing polybutylene pipes using a plastic pipe cutter.
3. Install new CPVC water pipe; glue pipe to fittings with CPVC primer and cement.
