How Do I Keep the Color of Mulch From Fading?
Roger Cook suggests how to get that ‘fresh mulch look’
I love the color of fresh mulch. Is there a type that stays close to the same color after it’s applied?

All mulches, including this ground cedar bark, turn gray. Pine bark is the best at holding its color, but it too will fade eventually. Still, it’s easy to hide the gray under a thin layer of fresh mulch; an inch or less should do the trick. Just make sure to keep mulch at least 3 inches away from tree or shrub trunks, and never let it build up more than 3 inches.
