In the process of weatherizing a home, the blower door is an important tool used to evaluate the integrity of a home’s building envelope. Besides simply testing for airtightness, the blower door can be used for a multitude of tests that help the weatherization team find air leaks to the outside, understand the condition of the home’s duct system, and also evaluate the overall safety of the combustion appliances exhaust systems.
