Home insurance can protect you when the unexpected occurs. You might think your home warranty will safeguard your wallet when your home catches on fire, gets struck by lightning, or when someone vandalizes or burglarizes it—but it won’t. A home insurance policy can help pay for repairing and rebuilding your home’s interior and exterior structure, as well as replace your damaged or destroyed personal property, in the case of a covered disaster.
Choosing the best home insurance company for you can be tricky. Not all homeowners insurance companies are the same quality, and they can differ in terms of coverage, cost, availability, and more. The This Old House Reviews Team created this in-depth Kemper home insurance review to help you determine if it’s the best fit for you needs.

“I have been waiting almost two months for an answer on whether or not my car will be fixed. They just ignore calls and emails. The managers are not helpful in any way. This insurance company is the worst I have ever dealt with.”
Na V. said:
“Out of a dozen phone calls to have an existing claim closed out and vehicle repaired I was only ever able to speak to the adjuster twice. No matter the amount of messages left they won’t return your phone call. Had I gone through my insurance (USAA) instead of the driver at faults (Kemper) my claim would’ve been resolved within a week. Instead we had to play phone tag with Kemper for five weeks. Your adjusters should be let go and your phone assistants should take over. Allison was tremendous and assuring. ** Thompson, the adjuster, and their supervisor Sarah were not. I feel terrible for your paying customers.”
