Wood tounge and groove on walls and ceiling in bathroom.

Remodeling our downstairs bathroom. Tile is being installed on the shower walls and the entire bathroom floor. I want to install tounge and groove wood on the ceiling and walls. Pine, cypress or cedar? Wondering if I need a moisture barrier on the ceiling too? Thinking of painting or applying Waterlox to the wood. Should all sides of the wood be sealed? Want to install this properly.

Unless you have rapid and excellent ventilation in this bathroom, wood on the ceiling is not the greatest idea.

Let's assume you do, then there are a few ways to do it. One way is shown here: www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/2014/02/how-to-plank-a-bathroom-ceiling.html

Also check YouTube for more ideas.

I would seal all sides of the wood.
