I have a unheated\ back porch, approx. wall size is 8' x9', can I apply flooring/laminate on the wall and if so what is the best way?
Sure you can but why would you want to go to all that work and expense . Consider a good quality wood paneling much easier to install.
Not sure yet, as to what is behind the paneling.... This is a unheated porch. Thinking about insulating.
I'd worry about the expansion and contraction rates of the flooring on the wall. I can see this going badly.
Just getting ideas... Makes sense... Could be a problem.
I think it's a bad idea. These planks are called "floor" for a reason.
I have seen it done before! Just thought I would get ideas!
Just because someone else got away with it is not enough reason to believe that you will get away with it too. Personally I can see no reason to attempt this, there are many great alternatives designed for wall usage that time has proven. If I had a truckload of this stuff, instead of using it here I'd trade it for a better material and yes- I'd insulate the exterior walls while you're in there.
