Window air conditioner is spewing water on exterior of adjacent window and exterior wooden window frame - DIY Fix?
Karen

My new, very efficient window air conditioning unit is installed into one window of a two window set. And it is working a little too well on hot humid days, the internal fan is spewing water out the side vent and soaking the beautiful exterior wood trim plus the adjacent window. The manuafacturer recommends a 3 to 4 degree angle for the unit. Mine is exactly 3 degrees. I will tip it a bit more.  Maybe better drainage out the bottom drainage hole will help?  I am ready to buy some sheet metal and design my own diversion/protection of our wood frames and windows (of course a good three to four inches away from the ac unit's side vent for good ventilation).  Has anyone ever encountered this unwanted spraying of excess water? Any suggestions?  Thank you,  Karen
