Will gloss natural floors look scuffed over time??

I love the look of gloss hardwood floors. I know they show more dirt, which is fine for me. But, Im concerned that over time, will the higher traffic areas look I guess the term would be "worn", "scuffed", or "sanded"?

Im looking to lay natural maple with water based urethane and really want to do gloss, but im concerned that the floor will no longer look "wet" and "mirrorlike" but like somebody rubbed it with sandpaper and the shine is knocked down and just looks bad over time.

Does anybody have any experience with gloss over lets say 10 years of normal wear?? Im OK with reapplying a coat or two every 10, but not every year or two.

suggestions? feedback?
