I have oak hardwood flooring in my kitchen. How often should I have them recoated with polyurathane.
There is no hard and fast arbitrary rule. However, a properly treated floor should last several years. My kitchen floor is on its 5th year and still looks fine. I would keep an eye on wear patterns, especially in front of the sink where it is more likely to be damaged from splashed water. Under tables where chair legs scuf alot should be watched too.
Short of a full re-urethaning, there are many products on the market designed to put on light maintenance coats: http://store.mybonahome.com/polishes.aspx
