When shopping for a faucet, what does "trim kit" mean?

I'm shopping for a two-handle shower only faucet for my tiled stall shower. A plumber will be replacing the works because the original (1950's) faucet is leaking. Home Depot has a Price Pfister Two Handle Shower Only Trim Kit for $117. But does that include the "guts" of the faucet or am I only getting the shower nozzle and the handles? The specs page can't be seen on Home Depot's site. Can anyone tell me what "trim kit" means? Thanks alot!

Trim kit only includes shower tube and head, handles and escutcheons not the valves or guts.
