What to do with wood flooring in an old building

(E van winkle gin and machine works)

Hello all! I just rented a art studio in an old reclaimed gin. Needless to say the flooring has been through the elements and it has quite the characters :p.

What I was wondering is what do you all recommend for treating the floor? I like the uneven look since it's part of it's history so I don't want to sand it but I would like to have some kind of "surface" on it so it would be easier to maintain.

I'm gong to spend all night cleaning the floor and hopefully can get started on working on it tomorrow.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.
