What style of house? Different than most in our area.

Ok....I'm going to try this again with photos.

We recently bought this cute little house, but there is no record of the year it was built. It is in NE Texas. I haven't seen any like this in our area. Does anyone have any idea of the style and an idea of when it may have been built? It does have the original interior doors with glass knobs and "skeleton" type keyholes, very high celings, wood walls, and original hardwood floors that we have discovered under the carpeting. The roof has split levels with some flat tops. They look as if they need a thatch roof. Thanks!
Scroll down for photo of the house.

A "period house" of the "english cottage" style. Those clipped gables are sometimes called "jerkin head" gables.
