What can you do with Acorns?

Hello,

So I've been raking and raking all weekend. The biggest pain in the butt has been the huge amount of Acorns on our front lawn. Can one do something useful with them? Seems a waste to just throw them out.

Thanks,
Rich

howdy you can eat them after processing . Be real popular with the area squirrels if ya leave them .

We used to cause trouble by chucking them at different things.

Native Americans make soup and jewelry out of them.

You can get everyones attention with the caps by using your thumbs in a v-notch shape and whistling.

Hmmmm.... so while the suggestions are terrific, I think I'll stick w/ putting them out on the curb. The Squirrels already found their way into my attic, so I would like to avoid creating an easy meal for them.

Actually, may have a nice project for the kids (although maybe they are too young)
Take a balloon, put it around an empty Scotch Tape roll, and use it to shoot small acorns at things (squirrels?)

That's what I was getting at, however I am much too afraid of PETA to ever suggest beaning a tree rat. Anyone have a recipe for squirrel soup, wait a minute make the kids squirrel tail hats now that's a project.

You should see the bumper sticker on the back of NEC's truck!
